Guiding Questions: What is the relationship between the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution? How do these Founding documents reflect common republican principles?
- I can analyze the relationship between the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
Instructions
- Draw a picture frame like the one to the right on your own paper. Your frame should take up the whole page.
- In the top section of the frame, write one of the principles from the Constitution.
- In the bottom, write the phrase from the Constitution that illustrates this principle.
- On the left side, write the definition of this principle in your own words.
- On the right side, write why this principle is important to good governance.
- At the top of the center part of the frame, write the phrase from the Declaration of Independence that illustrates this principle.
- In the center of the frame, draw or compile a collage of at least four pictures that illustrate this principle at work in the United States today. Underneath each picture, explain how each illustration depicts the principle.
- On the back, write how YOU should act to ensure that “neither picture, or apple shall ever be blurred, or bruised or broken.”
